National writer questions whether Cowboys will make this drastic decision on Tony Romo

Jerry Jones might have to make the decision of his life next year

When exactly Tony Romo will return to the Cowboys lineup is still up in the air, but with rookie Dak Prescott filling in as nicely as he has, the storm is all but weathered already.

Prescott has now thrown an NFL record 75 passes without an interception, and his upside continues to grow. But as Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman writes, what happens next season? Prescott has pretty much shown himself to be the future of the organization, and with an aging, breaking down 36-year-old quarterback at the top of the depth chart, Jerry Jones could have the biggest decision of his football life right in front of him.

"Would Jerry Jones cut Romo loose for the younger Prescott? He's considered crazier stuff, like, you know, drafting Johnny Manziel. No matter the time frame, it appears Dallas has its next signal-caller on the roster. Even if the season goes down the drain, that's no small accomplishment."
