Four-star athlete Salvon Ahmed (6-foot-0, 185 pounds, Kirkland, WA) is rated as the nation's No. 1 athlete by 247Sports' ratings. The Washington native has been a highly coveted prospect among most west coast schools, but it looked like Notre Dame had potential to sneak in and pull Ahmed out east.
That won't happen, though, as Ahmed announced his commitment to Washington on Friday during a ceremony at his high school.
Ahmed had taken an official visit to Notre Dame last weekend, but it looks like that visit decided that it wasn't going to work for him and the Fighting Irish.
The dynamic athlete with 4.5 40-speed becomes the 13th commitment for Washington's 2017 class. That class currently ranks No. 21 in the nation over at 247Sports.
