The Buffalo Bills stomped the New England Patriots on Sunday, 16-0, handing Bill Belichick's team its first shutout loss at home in 23 years.

During his postgame presser, Bills head coach Rex Ryan stirred the pot, claiming to have some inside knowledge that Jacoby Brissett would be starting for the Patriots, via 247sports:
"My sources inside the New England Patriot building said that Jacoby Brissett would be the quarterback," said Bills head coach Rex Ryan in his postgame presser. "How's that? I will stir some stuff up."
It's very likely Ryan was simply adding fuel to the fire, as Brissett simply suffered a thumb injury, which is much easier to play through than a sprained AC joint that reportedly hampered Jimmy Garoppolo from even lifting his shoulder the prior week.
It doesn't help that a Bills linebacker echoed Ryan's sentiment afterward:
"We had some inside knowledge that [Jacoby Brissett] was probably going to play today," said Bills linebacker Preston Brown. "Knowing that he was going to play we knew we were going to get a lot of passes to our left side, easy one-sided reads, so we tried to limit that and pack that side."
It's illegal to spy on NFL teams, so let's hope Ryan is simply being the lightening rod he is known to be.
