Ed Orgeron is 3-0 as LSU's interim head coach, and he has made it clear he wants the interim tag removed after the season.

Most believe Orgeron should become the permanent head coach if LSU beats Alabama for the first time since 2011 on Saturday night, but ESPN analyst Trevor Matich believes otherwise.

"I do not agree that if he wins this game against Alabama, or even if he wins out, that he should be given the job because of that," Matich said. "Because winning and managing the game week as an interim coach is important, but it's only one small part of being a head coach and building and sustaining a successful program."
Orgeron was 6-2 as the interim head coach at USC, but he was a mere 10-25 during his three-year stint as the head coach at Ole Miss. If LSU wins out, they will likely at least strongly consider Orgeron for the job, but a loss to Alabama - especially an ugly one - could eliminate him from contention.
