Former FSU star joins rare NFL club after Sunday's game

Good for him!

There are many former Florida State stars in the NFL and it's because the coaches at the university get these players ready for the next level. A lot of people might point out that FSU is basically a feeder school for kickers and they wouldn't be wrong with several kickers on NFL rosters.

However, the school has churned out some pretty great defensive players and the Steelers' Lawrence Timmons is one of them. In his game against the Baltimore Ravens, Timmons recorded nine total tackles and that pushed him over a pretty important plateau.

While it's unlikely he gets another thousand, Timmons could finish his career with close to 1,500 as he's only 30 and could play another five years or so if the game doesn't beat him up too badly.
