SEC insider says despite loss, Coach O made progress to keep job

Does he know something we don't?

Most people are already giving up on Ed Orgeron as the new permanent head coach for LSU because of one loss to the best team in the country. However, former LSU star defensive lineman and current SEC Network analyst Marcus Spears thinks otherwise.

Most people believed that if Orgeron beat Alabama, he was all but guaranteed to keep the job permanently. Orgeron still has a chance to prove his team's mettle with games against Florida, Texas A&M and Arkansas left in the season. If he can win all of those games or even two of them, then that's going to create a pretty big stir among the boosters and fans.
