Former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate (18-7) announced her retirement following a demoralizing unanimous decision loss to Raquel Pennington (9-5) in her first fight since dropping the title to Amanda Nunes.

Pennington worked the jab, held her own on the ground and absolutely dominated Tate throughout the fight to earn the win.
It was a frustrating night for Tate, who coached Pennington on "The Ultimate Fighter." She mentioned after the loss that her decision to retire was a result of the loss.
Tate dropped her two title fight contests against Ronda Rousey and was aiming for a third after beating Holly Holm for the belt. That simply wouldn't be, as she was submitted by Nunes back in July while Rousey took a sabbatical.
