Saban doesn't expect to get senior offensive lineman back in 2016

Nick Saban updated the injury status of senior offensive lineman and former starter Alphonse Taylor this week and the news is not good. Taylor has been out after suffering a concussion against Arkansas early in the season.

"I think that's a medical decision," Saban said. "I'm not assuming that he's going to come back (this season). It would be a bonus if he did. I don't think he will based on the amount of time that we've had. It's something that we're still evaluating but it's something that we're not counting on."

Taylor started all 15 games last season for the Tide and had started 4 games this year before suffering the concussion. Sophomore Lester Cotton had been starting in place of Taylor before suffering a concussion of his own. Alabama is now counting on senior Korren Kirven to fill the void. Kirven played well against Mississippi State Saturday and hopefully he will be able to continue to hold his own has Alabama begins postseason play.
