The coaching carousel has been spinning all day with coaches on the move seemingly everywhere. Charlie Strong was fired, Ed Orgeron was named permanent head coach of LSU and Tom Herman was named the new Texas coach. It seems like the Houston job has become the next hottest one on the market.

It's also looking like a current SEC coach could be the man to take the Houston job according to a report from the Houston Chronicle:

Mullen has been in Starkville since 2009 and has led the Bulldogs to six bowl appearances and has a 59-42 overall record. However, the team wasn't nearly as good this season after Dak Prescott left and is likely to finish 5-7 after a win over Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.

While Houston is obviously not in a power conference like the SEC, the recruiting has gotten much easier thanks to Herman's efforts and the school could be joining the Big 12 down the road. Mullen is likely to be associated with several head coaching jobs this offseason so don't be surprised to hear his name more often.
