Mere hours after it was announced that Ed Orgeron would have the interim head coach tag removed and be hired by LSU on a more permanent basis, he already began tailoring his staff.

Coach O, who became the Tigers' acting head coach after Les Miles was fired in September, got the gig on Saturday and immediately dismissed special teams coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto, The Advocate reported.
"We appreciate Bradley Dale and the work he put into the program," Orgeron said in a statement. "However, at this time we have decided to move in a different direction with our special teams."

Peveto, 53, was first hired by Miles in 2005 as a linebackers coach and special teams coordinator, then left the team in 2008, soon after being promoted to co-defensive coordinator, amid struggles with the defense. He rejoined the team in 2013, once again coaching linebackers and special teams for the past three seasons.
Orgeron reportedly stripped Peveto of his duties with the linebacking corps back in September in an effort to allow him to concentrate on special teams, but LSU's kickoff and punt coverage units continued to struggle. His replacement has yet to be announced.
