Former Gator great Mike Pouncey has been a rock solid foundation for the Miami Dolphins since he was drafted in 2011. He's currently in the second year of a six-year contract and is getting paid $9 million this season, but he's been dealing with a hip injury all year and has already had surgery on it once. That has prompted the Dolphins to shut him down for the rest of the season by placing him on the injured reserved list.

The injury flared up last month in a practice in San Diego and after a consultation with the medical staff, the team decided it was best not to take any risk by letting him play. While Pouncey has had surgery on both his right and left hip, there is some good news coming down the pipeline.
The Dolphins are hopeful that if Pouncey continues his current course to recovery without any setbacks, the current injury would not become a career-threatening issue. So Pouncey should be free to return in 2017.
