The NFL's desire to prevent helmet-to-helmet hits seems to be having little effect on the number of devastating, concussion-inducing collisions wide receiver are seeing this season.

Defensive backs seem to have just adjusted their scopes, then gone back on their merry ways—-inflicting pain. Take this hit from Indianapolis Colts corner Darius Butler on Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen Sunday.

Although Butler got flagged on the play, there was no helmet-to-helmet contact. And Thielen ended up in the league's concussion protocol anyway.

The point being, Butler appeared to make every attempt at a clean hit here, and to not make any contact with Thielen's head. No matter, though. It didn't  lessen the impact.
