It appears health concerns have taken a toll on the 55-year-old Kubiak to the point where he and his family feel it is safer that he step down from coaching. Rumors had been climbing in recent weeks that Kubiak could be leaving the coaching ranks, and it now looks like it is that time.
Kubiak has already missed one game this season due to his health, and it's not the first time he's had to combat the physical tolls of coaching, either; back in 2013, Kubiak had to be rushed to the hospital while he was coaching the Houston Texans after suffering a transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke) at halftime of a game against Indianapolis.
In addition to winning Super Bowl 50 with Denver, Kubiak has won three other Super Bowls in his career as an assistant for the San Francisco 49ers. As a head coach, Kubiak has a 81-75 career record between stints with the Texans and the Broncos.
