On Wednesday, multiple reports came in that the Rams had hired 30-year old Sean McVay as their new head coach. The Rams later confirmed that report with their own announcement.
McVay is now the youngest head coach in the NFL, and per the league, he is the youngest in league history. He had spent the past seven seasons with the Redskins as an assistant, the last three of which he served as the offensive coordinator. McVay has not served as a head coach at any level in the past.
McVay replaces Jeff Fisher, who was fired after the Rams fell to a 4-9 record on the season in early December. Fisher is currently tied with Dan Reeves with the most losses by a head coach in NFL history.
