LeBron James was a two-sport star when he was in high school at St. Vincent-St. Mary Prep and there were a few programs out there trying to recruit him for football on the off-chance he wouldn't go pro in basketball and try to make millions of dollars. He had 1,200 receiving yards in his junior year of high school and so there were definitely some big time coaches going after him.

One of those coaches was Florida State legend Bobby Bowden. On an info sheet provided to ESPN's Tom Lemming, James lists Bowden as his favorite recruiter even though he never went to college:

Of course, Bowden recruited such receivers as Anquan Boldin, Randy Moss and Peter Warrick among many others. Could you imagine if he had landed LeBron James though? I'm willing to bet FSU could have won another national title somewhere in there.
