Tyjuan Garbutt is no stranger to being committed to the Virginia Tech Hokies. On Saturday, though, he made a clear pledge to Justin Fuente when it comes to playing college football in Blacksburg beginning in 2017.

Garbutt was previously committed to Virginia Tech before reopening his recruitment and, this time around, the talented four-star athlete chose the Hokies over the Pittsburgh Panthers. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect explained his rationale after making the decision, speaking to Adam Friedman of Rivals.
"I chose the Hokies about a year ago because I saw a bright future with coach (Justin) Fuente after what he did at Memphis and at TCU. Coach (Bud) Foster is still going to be there and he's one of the best defensive coordinators in the country. Coach (Charley) Wiles will be my position coach and he's been there for so long and coached so many great players. They're on the rise in the ACC.
"When I committed there last year we had a good class and then I decommitted in the summer because I wanted to take some visits. The Hokies were still my leader after that and I was still watching what they were doing on the recruiting trail because that was the team I wanted to play for. That's always been my home.
Adding or, in this case, re-adding a top-10 player from within Virginia is massive get for the Hokies, and Fuente continues to impress wildly since taking over the reins.
