He's suing the newspaper.

Burt Hubbuch, the former NFL reporter, filed the lawsuit, according to ProFootballTalk, which said it has obtained a copy of the complaint.

The lawsuit claims The Post violated New York Labor Law that says it's "unlawful for any employer . . . to discharge from employment... an individual... because of... an individual's legal recreational activities outside work hours, off of the employer's premises and without use of the employer's equipment or other property."

Hubbuch says the tweet was on his own time.

Hubbuch originally caused the controversy when he compared the inauguration of Donald Trump to the tragedies of Pearl Harbor and the September 11th attacks.

Hubbuch later deleted the tweet and apologized, but not before he faced ridicule from fellow users on Twitter. A week later, the Post made the decision to fire Hubbuch.
