The Florida State Seminoles picked up two national championships under the watchful eye of Bobby Bowden and, after his departure from the program, Jimbo Fisher and Jameis Winston led the team to another in 2013. In short, Florida State has been a tremendous program for quite some time and, this week, that point was driven home in yet another way.

Brian Fremeau brings word that the Seminoles easily rank as the most consistent winner in the college football world over the past 30 seasons, dialing up a winning percentage approaching 80 percent. In addition to the three national championships, Florida State finished within the top four in the final Associated Press poll in fourteen consecutive seasons from 1987 through 2000 and that remains one of the more mind-boggling stats in the history of the sport.
It is fair to say that Fisher and his staff don't quite have the Seminoles at the level that the program enjoyed during the heyday of Bowden. In the same breath, there is no argument against Florida State as one of the ten best programs in the country as it stands today and there is a 30-year window that will speak that truth into full-fledged existence without an argument against it.
