College football recruiting drama is a never-ending thing, and the drama and intrigue is usually a good and interesting aspect of college football. However, sometimes there are stories that come out like this one involving a high school recruit Taurrian Stafford who was tricked into believing he got a call from the Auburn Tigers who offered him a scholarship.

"The south Florida native currently holds an offer from Florida A&M but was recently brought to tears after receiving a call from someone claiming to be Hand. The reason for the tears was pure joy, as Stafford told Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Undercover that the caller offered him a scholarship to play for the Tigers.
Stafford's joy quickly turned to agony, as it was discovered that the call did not actually come from Hand, nor anyone from Auburn for that matter, and that no such offer from the Tigers had ever been extended. Apparently, this was someone's idea of a prank. The caller has yet to be identified."
Herb Hand, the Auburn Tigers' offensive line coach, sent out a tweet on the incident.
He didn't mince words:
The good news is that Stafford has a good attitude about the whole situation and looks to be moving on from the unfortunate incident. Because of the incident, Hand is reportedly going to visit Stafford this spring for an in-person evaluation.
