Rutgers has struggled mightily in its transition into the Big 10, and the program just suffered another setback.

Quarterback Tylin Oden, once deemed the "quarterback of the future," was dismissed from the program for a violation of team rules.

According to NJ.com, Oden "struggled to meet the same program off-field responsibilities demanded of every player."
Oden wasn't at the Scarlet Knights' practice on Tuesday, and coach Chris Ash said Oden had dismissed.
"We wish Tylin nothing but the best in his future decisions," Ash said in a statement.
Despite being billed as the QB of the future, Oden had been surpassed by Giovanni Rescigno and Zach Allen on the QB depth chart during spring training.
Oden was a three-star recruit out of high school, and he completed 1-8 passes for 2 yards last year. He also ran for 144 yards on 37 carries.
Rutgers finished 2-10 overall and 0-9 in the Big 10 in Ash's first season as head coach.
