FBS school dismisses three players, suspends five others amidst spring practices

An FBS school just hit a major roster hiccup.

The 2016 season was encouraging for Craig Bohl and the Wyoming Cowboys. The team performed quite well on the way to an 8-6 record and, as a result, there is some upward momentum for the program as the 2017 campaign approaches. However, Wyoming's roster encountered a significant snag this week, as the team announced three dismissals and five player suspensions effective immediately.

In an official press release, the Cowboys announced that redshirt freshman LB Drew Harvey, redshirt freshman FB Zach Taylor  and redshirt freshman DT Ja'Chai Baker have been dismissed from the program for "violation of team rules." In addition, Bohl's team will be without a quintet of players as a result of "temporary" suspensions, including senior FS Tim Kamana, redshirt freshman LB Adrian King, redshirt freshman RB Mike Green II, junior CB Antonio Hull and junior LB Chavez Pownell Jr.

There is very little in the way of available information at this time and the university notes that "Bohl will not have any further comment regarding the dismissals or suspensions, nor will anyone else with UW Athletics." It remains to be seen as to the reasoning behind the moves, but Wyoming's roster is much thinner than it was a few days ago.
