LSU sticks it to Tom Herman yet again on National Signing Day
Texas finished at No. 29 in 2017's recruiting rankings according to 247Sports. Though it's early in the 2018 recruiting cycle, Texas is currently No. 44.
The good news for Longhorns fans is that Herman is finally starting to haul in elite recruits. Texas received a commitment from four-star outside linebacker Byron Hobbs from Fort Worth, Texas, which is the Longhorns' second commitment of the 2018 class.

Hobbs is 6'3", 207 pounds and the No. 22 overall outside linebacker in his class. He is also the No. 275 overall player in the Scout 300.
Here is part of Hobbs' evaluation on Scout:
"Hobbs is an athletic outside linebacker prospect who is able to make plays in the open field, put pressure on the quarterback, and has the skills to be successful as defender versus the passing game and the run."
Texas isn't anywhere near where it needs to be in recruiting yet, but Herman is beginning to silence some doubters after bringing in a highly touted recruit.
