NFL expert calls the nephew of a Hall of Famer “not your typical sleeper” of the Draft

One analyst loves his "big arm."

Of all the quarterbacks mentioned at the top of the upcoming draft class, former Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly is nowhere to be found. Kelly has had some off-the-field issues, and he has also suffered injuries to his wrist and knee in the last few months.

NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock said Kelly is his top sleeper pick in this draft, though he also said Kelly is "not your typical sleeper" because he's the well-known nephew of Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly.

"He's got a big arm," Mayock said. "If you look at his two Alabama tapes—we make a big deal about (Deshaun) Watson's tapes against Alabama—but if you watch Kelly against them, it's just about as good. He's a little bit of a gunslinger. He throws some interceptions. But there's no question about arm strength. He's a competitor."

Mayock said whichever team drafts him will be getting a "bargain," and he thinks Kelly is one of the top five QB talents in this draft class.

CBS Sports has Kelly as the No. 10 QB in this draft—right behind fellow SEC alum Josh Dobbs. They predict Kelly will be taken in the seventh round in the draft.

Kelly's junior season was his most productive at Ole Miss. He threw for over 4,000 yards, 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions while leading the Rebels to a Sugar Bowl victory.
