The Patriots could be making another big addition to their backfield

More depth for an otherwise deep position.

The New England Patriots have already signed Mike Gillislee and Rex Burkhead to replace LeGarrette Blount, and they could potentially sign another running back to join the backfield.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the former Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers running back Christine Michael visited the Patriots yesterday.

The Seahawks drafted Michael in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, but he was stuck behind Marshawn Lynch on the depth chart for most of his tenure there.

Michael had a short stint with the Dallas Cowboys before rejoining the Seahawks. Michael played for the Green Bay Packers in a limited role for six games last season.

Michael rushed for seven touchdowns and 583 yards last season with Seattle and Green Bay.

The Patriots' backfield is already crowded with Dion Lewis, James White, Gillislee and Burkhead, so they might not have room for Michael. But these latest moves have likely signified the end of the LeGarrette Blount era in New England.
