College football player being hailed as a hero after stopping a suicidal man

This is pretty impressive and heroic.

Grant Porter is a hero. That much is certain at this point in time.

The Washington State freshmen wide receiver reportedly intervened to stop a 24-year-old Pullman man's suicide on Wednesday evening and the story is a perilous one. Alexa Block of KREM brings word that Porter "noticed something very out of the ordinary" and elected to jump into the mix.

"I see an individual tied up with some rope on a chair and his hands were behind his back."

"I was asking him like was everything okay. It seemed like he was going through some rough stuff."

According to the account, the man in question initially misled Porter with regard to what was happening but later let the secret go. When prompted for the reasoning behind his actions to stop it, Porter shed light in this way.

"I'm the type of person that just wants to help everybody because if I was in a situation like that I would want someone to help me out. You have a lot to see, you have a lot to live for and it's just not worth it."

This is a situation in which most people believe they would be able to do what Porter did but it takes another thing entirely to actually execute it. As a result of his actions, a man is safe from harm and that is a very cool thing.
