From Miami's own press release on the transfer:
Delaney is eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer from The Citadel, where he was named FCS All-American each of the last two seasons. As a senior in 2016, Delaney recorded 35 tackles, six interceptions and eight pass breakups. He also helped The Citadel win back-to-back Southern Conference championships in 2015-16.
Delaney will add some much needed defensive depth for Miami, as the Hurricanes lost two top members of their secondary — Rayshawn Jenkins and Corn Elder — to graduation. Delaney should be able to plug in immediately, giving Mark Richt and the coaching staff another year to develop some of the great recruiting talent that they are bringing in.
