ESPN's Booger McFarland gave his opinion on the top teams for the 2017 season, and it looks like the former LSU standout decided to rile up one of his old rivals.
The three teams that McFarland named as the best? Ohio State, Clemson, and Florida State.

Yes, that's right: Alabama is the notable exception from McFarland's top three. He didn't back down when confronted on that, either, as he firmly doubled-down on his take that Alabama wasn't on the tier of Clemson, Ohio State, and Florida State for 2017.
As an analyst I talk about the teams could care less what the name is honestly I throw praise, shade as u call it wherever. Bet that

Of the teams McFarland mentioned, Clemson is the oddest choice to put over the Tide. While Clemson did beat Alabama to win the College Football Playoff in January, the Tigers are losing significant talent from that team. They want fall far with the job that Dabo Swinney has done in the past few years, but they will take a small step back without Deshaun Watson.
McFarland is entitled to his opinion, but it's probably safe to say that he won't be making many friends in Tuscaloosa with this one.
