Left tackle Taylor Decker suffered a torn labrum, and he is expected to be out for 4-6 months. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Decker should start the season on the physically unable to perform list.

Lions coach Jim Caldwell doesn't think the injury is season-ending, but the 4-6 month timetable has Decker returning anywhere from October to December.

The Lions selected Decker with the No. 16 pick of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ohio State, and he started all 16 games for Detroit as a rookie. Decker and quarterback Matthew Stafford were the only two offensive players to play every snap on offense last season.

Decker was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team last year. It's a tough loss for the Lions, who made the playoffs last season. Decker was instrumental in protecting Stafford, which enabled the QB to have one of the best years of his career.
