In a press release on Wednesday, ESPN announced that they had given veteran commentator and television anchor Karl Ravech a contract extension. Terms for the contract were not released.

Ravech, who has been a mainstay for ESPN as an anchor for Sportscenter and Baseball Tonight, will also be picking up responsibilities for the Home Run Derby. Ravech will be replacing the semi-retired Chris Berman.

"It is truly a privilege to work with such outstanding people and for a company that prides itself on bringing the best sports coverage in the industry to our fans," Ravech said in ESPN's statement. "To be able to continue with ESPN in these significant roles and on various platforms for what will amount to more than a quarter of a century is beyond my wildest dreams."

Ravech is also being added to more play-by-play for both baseball and college basketball, per ESPN's statement.

Ravech joined ESPN in 1993, and with the massive layoffs affecting the company, he is now one of the longest-tenured television personalities with ESPN.
