Chelsea and Everton played in a terrific match that ended in a 1-0 Chelsea victory yesterday, but the story lingering after the match is that of the skirmish that took place late in the match.

The two sides had a lot of pushing and shoving, but Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic has been the focus of the incident for his attempted headbutt and chokehold he put on James McCarthy. Today it was announced that the FA charged both squads for "failing to control their players."

It's unknown at this time what the exact punishment will be for the two clubs, but it seems likely that it will just be a minor fine for both. The league will want to try and deter these kinds of incidents from happening again, so a fine is almost assured, but there doesn't seem to be much else they could do.
