Major recruiting news broke on July 4 as five-star running back James Cook — the brother of Dalvin Cook — announced that he had decommitted from Florida State.
"After talking it over with my family and coaches I feel like it would be in my best interest to de-commit from Florida State University,"" said Cook on Twitter. Also, I would like to thank coach Jimbo Fisher and the entire coaching staff for believing in me and my athletic abilities."
Cook concluded his statement with this:
"It's nothing personal just business."
Cook (6-foot-0, 181 pounds, Miami, Fla.) is rated as a five-star by Rivals and is a top five running back across all services. He had been committed to Florida State since March of 2016, but now it looks like he is back on the market and potentially looking for a new team.
Georgia could now be the leader for Cook, who has mentioned before that he would like to play with five-star running back Zamir White. White committed to the Bulldogs last week.
