LaVar Ball is the type of sports figure most love to hate, and many are rooting for his son, Lonzo Ball — - who was just drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers — to fail because of that.

The eldest Ball is brash, cocky, and probably over-confident in his brand. There is one area of his life where most people, even his haters, are rooting for him, though.
Tina Ball, LaVar's wife, recently suffered a stroke. It happened in late February, and in fact, it was so bad that it kept her in the hospital for two and a half months. The normally quiet Lonzo opened up to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN The Magazine about his mom's health back in May.
"She can't really talk right now," Lonzo says. "But she definitely knows what we're saying, and she smiles all the time. So that's a good thing."
LaVar Ball has basically turned his family into a Kardashian-like drama made for reality television, but hype aside — unlike reality TV — this is a very real for the Ball family. Health issues are no joke and a stroke is a big deal, especially when considering the fact that Mrs. Ball isn't really that old.
With that all in mind, it was great to see Tina up and moving recently, apparently feeling much better not even half a year after her stroke. Jovan Buha of ESPN shot a video of LaVar and his wife entering a BIG BALLERS (LaVar's brand and team) AAU game and Tina was walking alone with him, albeit with the help of a cane.
Still, the fact that Mrs. Ball went from not being able to speak in a hospital bed to meeting and greeting folks at a basketball game just a few months later is a huge deal.
LaVar, and even his sons by proxy, will likely keep catching heat as long as he keeps his personality up to a ten, but as far as his wife is concerned, you won't find anybody who isn't wholeheartedly rooting for her complete and full recovery.
