Derwin James could have second job on the team if he gets his way

He would probably be great at this too.

Florida State star and likely NFL Draft first round pick in 2018, Derwin James is now lobbying pretty hard to be more than just a man in the secondary of the Seminole defense. When asked if he's been campaigning for a kick and punt returner spot he said, "Oh yeah."

"I feel like I bring a lot to the field when I have the ball in my hands," James said. "My presence there alone speaks for itself."

Most coaches would probably shoot down this idea outright as it puts one of their star players in a position for greater chance at injury. However, Fisher has shown a penchant for getting his playmakers the ball outside of their normal positions. He let receiver Rashad Greene return punts in 2014 and let defensive back Jalen Ramsey return kicks in 2015.

So while the idea might be a bit far fetched for some to believe, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility for the Seminoles or James. If James shows he can make some people miss and that he's a solid returner it can only help his case to become a top pick in the 2018 draft as well as a potential Heisman winner.
