Several Dallas Cowboys booted from practice after scuffle breaks out

Yikes.

The Dallas Cowboys have not had a great offseason so far in 2017. They've had a few arrests and some suspensions handed down and now they might have a practice controversy on their hands. Tight end and former Baylor basketball player Rico Gathers and linebacker Kyle Wilber were involved in a little scuffle after Gathers took the drill a little too seriously. Here's video of the incident:

And Gathers kept going well after he was beat in the drill. That only drew the ire and anger of the coaching staff:

Both players were booted to the locker room to cool down for a bit before they returned to practice. Gathers chalked up the scuffle to just being competitive though.

"Just competing with my teammates," Gathers said, via The Dallas Morning News. "It got a little heated, you know. I finished the play all the way through and some of the defense didn't really agree with that, but hey, that's what my coaches taught me to do, finish the play through the whistle. That's what I did. From there, it got a little heated.

"But that's just the competitive nature of the game."

Receiver Noah Brown was also sent to the locker room after a back-and-forth with Wilber. They came back after about 10 minutes and resumed practice with the rest of the team.
