This is just brutal.

On Saturday, Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley announced that wide receiver Nick Basquine would be out for the season after suffering an Achilles injury.
Basquine had 20 receptions for 265 yards and two scores last season, and he figured to be a bigger part of the offense with the departures of receivers Geno Lewis and Dede Westbrook, as well as running back Joe Mixon, who had over 500 receiving yards last year.
The more heartbreaking part is that Basquine, previously a walk-on, had just earned a scholarship from the school last year. Basquine should have one more year of eligibility remaining after this season, as he has already used his redshirt year. However, with this injury, he could try and petition the NCAA for a medical redshirt and an extra season of eligibility.
