ESPN Cleveland reporter Tony Grossi predicts that Osweiler will be traded to the Indianapolis Colts following news that he won't play in the Browns' third preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week.

On Wednesday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero announced that Osweiler won't see the field during Saturday's game through a source close to the team. First-round draft pick DeShone Kizer will start for the Browns.

Osweiler was acquired by Cleveland via trade in March in exchange for a 2017 compensatory pick following a disappointing season with the Houston Texans. After signing a four-year, $72 million contract, the former Arizona State standout threw for 2,957 yards, 15 touchdowns and 16 interceptions before being traded this offseason. He spent his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos, serving primarily as a backup and making several sporadic starts while Peyton Manning battled injuries in 2015.

On Wednesday, Osweiler told Pelissero that he had "absolutely no regrets" over how he handled the quarterback battle and added "as far as I know, it's still wide open."
