Ezekiel Elliott's legal team is thrilled in the aftermath of a ruling that will allow him to play for the Dallas Cowboys while his court case proceeds with regard to a six-game suspension handed down by the NFL. That, of course, is no surprise given the positive result for his side but the NFL's side isn't nearly as thrilled with the way things occurred.

Adam Schefter of ESPN brings word of the NFL's official response.
"We strongly believe that the investigation and evidence supported the Commissioner's decision and that the process was meticulous and fair throughout. We will review the decision in greater detail and discuss next steps with counsel, both in the district court and federal court of appeals."
The temporary restraining order granted to Elliott's side included the notion that he was not treated fairly by an independent arbitrator that upheld the original six-game suspension. The NFL's indication of disdain for this particular ruling is not surprising but, at the end of the day, this case will likely continue for quite some time.
Until it is finally resolved, though, Ezekiel Elliott will be suiting up each week and that begins with the season opener on Sunday against the New York Giants in prime time.
