ESPN's College GameDay crew made the short trek from Columbus to Louisville this week, as the television program will be on site for the massive game between the Clemson Tigers and Louisville Cardinals. In advance of the actual broadcast, ESPN analyst Lee Corso is making the media rounds and, on Friday, he heaped big-time praise on Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino.

Petrino has often been lauded for his abilities as an offensive mind but Corso's insistence that he is the "best play caller in college football" is taking things to another level. It would probably be fair to include Petrino on the short list given his considerable success at the college level but, on the same day, Corso always praised Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson in immense terms.
Then, he brought things back to Petrino once again while further endorsing Jackson's play and profile.
It is certainly part of Corso's job to hype the game that will be on ESPN's air but these comments may strike some as an exaggeration. Still, the combination of Bobby Petrino and Lamar Jackson has been tantalizing for Louisville and, if nothing else, it gives the Cardinals a puncher's chance against the road favorite in Clemson.
