Paul Finebaum believes one coach could be on "short time" despite contract extension

This is NOT a good look.

Just days after giving Mike Riley a contract extension at Nebraska through 2020, another 1-2 start may have landed him squarely on the hot seat. The Cornhuskers dropped an embarrassing 21-17 loss to Northern Illinois on Saturday, and that led to Paul Finebaum speaking on his time possibly coming to an end in Lincoln.

According to ESPN's Kevin Negandhi, Riley has started 1-2 at Nebraska twice, and it happened just once in the 53 years before he took over.

Things were bad from the start for Nebraska on Saturday, as quarterback Tanner Lee threw two pick-sixes in the first half to give NIU a 14-0 lead at halftime. The defense was actually rather consistent for Nebraska, but they couldn't get any help from their offense.

To close the game, Lee threw his third pick of the game on a fourth down try to seal the deal for NIU.

Safe to say that things aren't going well in Lincoln after things started to look promising last season under Riley.

In three seasons at Nebraska, Riley is 16-13, with a 1-1 record in bowl games.
