Redshirt sophomore Venzell Boulware announced that he plans to "pursue other options away from UT for the remainder of my career."
Boulware started at left guard for Tennessee during its Week 4 win over Massachusetts, but didn't appear in Saturday's 41-0 home loss to Georgia.
Boulware competed with Jack Jones for the starting position at left guard during training camp. Jones won the position, but was benched for Boulware after a disappointing showing against Florida.
However, he was again benched for the Georgia game as Tennessee shifted Brett Kendrick from right tackle to left guard and inserted Marcus Tatum in at right tackle before moving Kendrick back to right tackle and reinserting Jones in at left guard during the game.
Boulware made his first career start against Alabama last season and also started in the Vols' final two regular season games before being ruled ineligible for the Music City Bowl due to an academic issue.
Tennessee is currently in its bye week and will resume play on Oct. 14 against South Carolina.
