Russell Wilson is not worried about contract talks

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is currently playing baseball for the Texas Rangers in spring training, but that doesn't mean he can escape questions about his football future.

Wilson, whose contract runs up after next season, shrugged off questions about his future with the Seahawks, but reaffirmed his love of football.

"In terms of my contract, I don't really talk about that kind of stuff," Wilson told reporters at Rangers spring training. "I love the game of football. I love playing the game of football. I try to put my best foot forward and I want to be the best to ever play the game. That's the way I look at it...I focus on the next opportunity that I have. The rest will come. I believe God is going to bless me. I don't know what's going to happen, but I trust always. And I trust it's going to work out the way it's supposed to."

We'll see what kind of money Wilson will command, but you can bet it will involve a lot of guaranteed money. Ben Roethlisberger's latest 5-year contract gave him $65 million in guaranteed money, which was a record amount, and set the bar for the next round of extensions for franchise quarterbacks. Wilson will probably be seeking a deal that is in the same range as Big Ben if not even more considering he is much younger than Roethlisberger.
