Taggart is currently 5-4 at the Pac 12 powerhouse, but did lead USF to its current renaissance it's experiencing that Charlie Strong will likely get credit for now. Taggart led the team to a 10-2 record before leaving ahead of the Birmingham Bowl.
Taggart has now been a head coach at three different destinations including his first job with Western Kentucky coaching various positions before coming back in 2010 to max out at 7-5 with the Hilltoppers in his last two seasons there. He actually doesn't have a record above .500 as a head coach with a 45-49 record so for Florida to bring him on might be a reach and may not go over well with a fan base who wants to see winning and high-scoring offenses right out of the gate.
