For much of the afternoon in Madison, the Michigan Wolverines looked like the better team against the undefeated Wisconsin Badgers. Some of that can certainly be attributed to Michigan's swarming and talented defense but Jim Harbaugh's team has been different (in a good way) since inserting redshirt freshman Brandon Peters into the fray at quarterback.

Unfortunately, the Wolverines will now be without Peters for at least the remainder of the Wisconsin game, if not longer, as a result of a scary hit in the third quarter.
Peters remained on the turf motionless for several minutes before coming to and being carted off the field in the midst of a team-wide huddle.
Given that Peters was not restrained after the hit, it seems relatively safe to assume that it was not a shoulder or neck ailment, though no official designation has been released at this point. Michigan replaced Peters with incumbent John O'Korn, who was the starter for several games after initial starter Wilton Speight went down with injury.
Following his exit from the stadium, an update arrived on Peters' condition and a lean toward a head injury.

The Wolverines play host to arch rival Ohio State next week in Ann Arbor and, in short, that becomes a very different football game if Peters is unable to play. Stay tuned.
