"It was just the right fit for me," Henry told ESPN during the broadcast of his announcement at West Forsyth High School in Winston Salem, N.C. "Coach Swinney and his staff have been on point this entire recruiting process. Teams have been in and out. I've liked teams more sometimes and liked teams less but they've just been consistent."
Henry ranks as the No. 3 weakside defensive end, No. 2 player from the state of North Carolina and No. 8 overall prospect for the 2018 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite.
The senior chose the Tigers over South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia Tech, having earned 29 total scholarship offers.
Clemson had also signed five-star strong-side defensive end Xavier Thomas and four-star weakside defensive end Justin Mascoll, along with 14 other total prospects on Wednesday.
The Tigers currently ranked No. 10 overall nationally and second among ACC teams in the 247Sports Composite Team Ranking prior to Henry's announcement.
