Two weeks ago, the Washington Redskins decided that they were not going to select a quarterback in the draft. But the team did take a chance on undrafted quarterback Connor Halliday out of Washington State. Halliday had a good chance to get drafted, but he broke his ankle late last season, but he did have a chance to make the Redskins' squad.

That was before Halliday mysteriously retired a day before rookie minicamp began, according to the Washington Post. Redskins officials have not said why Halliday retired and the quarterback has not said why he stepped away from the game he devoted his life to.
"I can't speak for the decision that he made," Redskins head coach Jay Gruden told reporters Saturday. "He just chose to jump on a plane and head to the house. I haven't had a chance to talk with him yet. He just left me a voice message, but I'm sure he had personal reasons behind it."
I hope there is nothing serious behind his retirement and I hope that he finds happiness away from the game.
