Cubs manager Joe Maddon brings in actual magician to help team

It has been 107 years since the Cubs last won a World Series. They might need more than a little magic show to help them out.

That right, Cubs manager Joe Maddon decided to invite an actual magician to perform for his players before Tuesday's game against the New York Mets. Maddon described the tactic as something to help "lighten things up" according to ESPN.

This is not the first time that Maddon has attempted something like this to help improve the morale of his team. Back in his days as the Tampa Bay Rays manager, Maddon would often bring animals into the team's clubhouse. At least for now, Maddon can claim it was a success, as the Cubs beat the Mets 1-0 to end Chicago's five-game losing streak.

Who knows, maybe the Cubs will pull a rabbit out of their hat this year after all.
