Traditional baseball fans might be horrified by the outlandish approach that this high school baseball player from Japan brings to the batter's box. There's the wild twirling of the bat, the gyrating of the hips and legs and, well, just general madness throughout the entire experience.
However, he does manage to make contact (at least in this clip), so it isn't as if his routine is negatively affecting his performance (we don't think), even though the end result here fell short of magnificent. Beyond that, this is purely fun and harmless because, well, it's high school baseball.
This video will undoubtedly make the rounds and anger some stodgy traditionalists, but baseball is always seen as a sport that is dying among young people, and this tremendous youngster surely can't hurt from an excitement standpoint.
And, if nothing else, the band absolutely crushes, "We Will Rock You!"
