On Wednesday night, former MLB and Washington Nationals catcher Raudy Reed attempted to confront a heckling fan in the stands of an Atlantic League, a partner league of Major League Baseball, matchup between the Long Island Ducks and Spire City Ghost Hounds.

It occurred in the top of the 10th inning following a double play by the Ghost Hounds to halt the Ducks' three-run rally. Returning to the dugout, Reed caught the ball from the second baseman while standing on first to complete the double play. Immediately after this, you can see Reed throw his glove to the ground and run into the stands in the video below, courtesy of Jomboy Media.

The video quality, unfortunately, isn't the best, but this was far more than him approaching the barricade between the field and the stands or just hopping over it—Reed went up into the concourse and had to be shielded from the fan by security on site.
This particular far spent the inning constantly insulting Reed.

Fortunately, the incident was intercepted before anyone got seriously hurt. Still, it does remind you to have similar incidents that happened earlier this year, including West Michigan Whitecaps manager Brayan Pena jumping into the stands as well as Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon almost slapping a fan that he grabbed while leaving the field.
In case you were wondering, the Ducks went on to win this game 11-9.
