There's been a lot of change in college football over the past year or so; if you've had a hard time keeping track of it all, you could be forgiven. However, when you're the head coach of a major program, you should probably remember exactly which program that is, and be sure that you're using the correct Twitter account when posting about your team.

New Wisconsin coach, Luke Fickell, slipped up in this regard on Thursday, when he (or his social media manager) tweeted from the official account of University of Cincinnati football, where Fickell was head coach from 2017 through last season. Fickell's camp must unknowingly still be logged into the Bearcats' account, as the highly puzzling tweet from Cincinnati's Twitter account contained a message that was clearly about Wisconsin's team.

The tweet focused on Wisconsin transfer QB Tanner Mordecai, previously of SMU and Oklahoma. Posted from the right account, it would've been a pretty good one, complete with Wisconsin related wordplay, and featuring the centerpiece of Wisconsin's offensive overhaul.

Fickell himself is a huge part of the rebuild after finding enough success at Cincinnati to make them the first Group of Five team to make the College Football Playoff. So is new offensive coordinator Phil Longo, who did great things at the University of North Carolina, where he facilitated the star leap of quarterback Drake Maye. Similarly, Fickell helped Bearcats QB Desmond Ridder find his way to the NFL, and all parties involved will be hoping that Mordecai will find similar success in Madison and beyond.

After a third consecutive mediocre season in which the Badgers went 4-5 in Big Ten play, it was time to end the Paul Chryst era and move on from quarterback Graham Mertz. With Fickell looking to make a Power Five move, the match just about made itself, and the team has high expectations this year. Most pundits and fans expect the Badgers to win the Big Ten West division this year.

With so many changes over the last few months, things are definitely looking up in Madison. Wisconsin's fans and athletic department will just have to hope that their head football coach remembers to send all communications from official Badgers social media accounts from now on.
