Homestead-Miami Speedway To Honor Kevin Harvick

The NASCAR Cup Series is still a couple of weeks away from heading to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the second race of the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup playoffs.

That hasn't stopped the speedway from giving a parting gift to one of NASCAR's 75 greatest drivers when the teams get there. Homestead-Miami has officially announced that the Cup race will be called the 4EVER 400 at Homestead Miami Speedway presented by Mobil 1, in honor of the retiring Kevin Harvick.

Harvick has found himself the recipient of plenty of love from NASCAR and its fans throughout his final season, and having a race named in his honor is something he says "tops the list" of the many retirement surprises he has received in 2023.

Harvick has provided plenty of memories throughout his illustrious career, though 2023 hasn't been a very memorable season for the driver of the No. 4. He is not letting that bug him with only four races remaining behind the wheel.

No matter what happens in those last four races, Harvick looks to be in a good place with his accomplishments as a NASCAR driver. In a video posted on social media, Harvick thanked both the Homestead track and his longtime sponsor, Mobil 1, for honor.

"That is really cool," Harvick said. "The 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. That is definitely top of the list for the surprises of the year. You never know what's coming next, and the year has just been filled with great support from sponsors and fans and racetracks. To have the 4EVER 400 race title is something I didn't really expect. So, thank you, Mobil 1, and this is going to be fun."

This is a well-deserved tribute to Harvick, who won his lone Cup championship at Homestead in 2014. What a story it would be if he could win the race named in his honor. Kyle Busch won the Buschy McBush race a couple of years ago, so what would be so wrong with Harvick winning the 4EVER 400? Absolutely nothing, and you can bet that he will be giving it his all to add another memorable moment to his illustrious career.
